Impossible World

A wonderful site Impossible World collects images of impossible objects in art - and goes well beyond Escher. For example, look at the mesmerising The Magpie on the Gallows by Pieter Bruegel (1568): The keeper of Impossible World also hosts Mathematical paintings and sculptures blog. Strongly recommend.

A few moody pictures ...

... of Mathematisches Forschungsinstitut Oberwolfach on a rainy day -- ideal time to do some mathematics. Of course, this is a comment on the brutalistic arcitecture of the New Mathematics Building.
